"Inbound sales, what you need to think about switching customers."
In 2023, Makers started the new year with a record of more than 130% year-on-year sales growth.
Behind the huge number of report cards was the efforts of each and every Team Maycorders, who had been so busy, or even more. :)
These days, no other team is busy, but among them, Sales team is having an unusually busy and hectic time.
We met and talked with Sales team mascot Jason, an overseas sales specialist, about when, who, what, how, and why the Makers Sales team is busy doing!
June:
Jason! You've been very busy lately, haven't you? What are you so busy with?
Jason:
I think I ended 2022 busily, but now that 2023, I think it's even more. @_@ That means our service is growing, right?
I am in charge of responding to inbound inquiries coming into MAYK in the Sales team and encouraging potential customers to switch onboarding or purchasing.
When I say I'm busy, it means that there are that many inquiries coming into MAYK, right? (Proud)
June:
Oh, I'm sorry to Jason, but the worse he looks, the more people are looking for MAYK. ㅋㅋㅋ
Then, I wonder what kind of MAYK customers are that keep Jason busy these days.
Jason:
People who are doing business in various fields leave an inquiry in MAYK! The people who account for the largest proportion empirically are those who have their own beauty brands or are interested in beauty brands, so they want to create their own beauty brands as their first business. So most of them are small and large sellers in the region.
It's really diverse from the Philippines to the United States and Australia in terms of countries and regions, but it mainly communicates with potential customers in Southeast Asia and the United States.
June:
As expected, it is the global service MAYK! They are customers with very different characteristics from business to region, so I think it will be difficult to operate. Nevertheless, are there any common characteristics or needs of customers looking for MAYK?
Jason:
Of course, they are people who are very interested in K-beauty.
Next, since you are a seller who wants to run a small brand or launch a brand for the first time, the MOQ presented by the manufacturer in general is too burdensome, or the entire manufacturing process is too difficult, so many people visit MAYK. Since they have a low understanding of the market and do not have enough seeds for their business, they want to reduce risks with a small budget, reduce steps, and easily create beauty products in a short period of time.
Since we don't have a customer or market that we have secured for sure, I think we want to test the market with the products we planned through MAYK.
June:
I see. Actually, the MOQ or minimum budget suggested by the manufacturer seems difficult to solve for MAYK service. Is there a good way for you, the manufacturer, and MAYK to win-win?
Jason:
In fact, we've traveled a lot together, but there are many cases where it doesn't lead to a purchase conversion, and most of them fail due to the realistic constraints you just mentioned.
However, it is true that MAYK must solve this mission as it is an issue that everyone is worried about. It's not a complete solution, but I think there are two things that I'm working on right now in the journey to complete solution!
In fact, it is a way to design and present a way to lower MOQ by reducing OEM/ODM options with products based on its own brand 4PM, or maintain realistic MOQ, but consult and convince the product to sell well in the target market.
At MAYK, all incoming customers will conduct all journeys, including formula, package, and product design, with consulting their manager and supporting market tests using various digital assets such as "voting for potential customers."
In the future, MAYK will develop in the direction of further supplementing these areas, and I am also considering those areas at the point where I am most in contact with customers.
June:
That's interesting! Jason started talking about what he's been busy with these days, and he's already full of dynamic stories.
Just by thinking about the variety of customers Jason wants to talk about, I can already feel his busy days!
Now that MayK has a general idea of who will be looking for what businesses, let's hear more about Jason's conversations with customers in the next article.
The story of Maycoders’ sales mascot Jason continues in the next episode!
See you soon :)
